How soon can my windshield replacement be scheduled?

How long will a windshield repair take?

On average, a windshield repair on a chip or ding in your auto glass can take a half an hour or less and your car is immediately available for driving. 

What are the guidelines for a windshield repair instead of doing a windshield replacement?

Windshield repair is recommended if the damaged area is less than the size of a quarter (bullseye), or for cracks less than six inches. Repairs are not done for cosmetic reasons, only to structuralize the glass, so you may still see a mark on the windshield. Because of this reason, windshield repairs cannot be done if they are located in the driver's line of vision. The line of vision is considered the sweep of the windshield wiper on the driver's side. Is it true mobile windshield replacement service is just as good as in-shop windshield replacement service?

Does my windshield really protect me in an accident?

Yes windshield safety is very important. Your windshield plays an integral part in roof crush protection in a roll-over accident. It also provides the bracing your passenger-side airbag needs to function properly. If your windshield loses adhesion in a collision or rollover, your safety is in jeopardy. This is why it is imperative that windshield replacement be done by a trained professional.

What is OEM auto glass? Is it the same as auto glass from a dealership?

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacture. This means that the auto glass meets the original specifications for safety and quality as the glass that it came with from the factory.  Auto Manufacturers' do not make glass, they use different auto glass manufacturer's to make the glass for your vehicle. A "dealer" glass is the same glass the auto glass shop would have, made from the same auto glass plant, but in the process, the auto glass manufacturer stamps the brand name, such as Toyota, or Ford, making it a "dealer" glass. Same exact glass, but more expensive due to the brand name.

Here are some post windshield replacement installation guidelines:

  • Do not pressure wash your vehicle for 24 hours
  • Leave a ¼ inch gap in your door glass to prevent build up of air pressure
    in the car. This build up of pressure can cause the windshield to leak.
  • Do not slam the doors for the first 24 hours
  • Limit driving for first 24 hours if possible
  • Remove any tape that was used after 24 hours

What about the stickers when you do my windshield replacement?

We will swap your old stickers over to your new windshield so you will not loose the information. We will also swap stickers for schools, parking, and military when possible.

My windshield is leaking. Can you replace the seal or molding?

If we originally performed the windshield replacement for you, we will come and fix the problem at no cost. We also fix leaking windshields installed by other companies - We advise you make the original company provide proper customer service and take care of it at no cost. If they will not, we can do it but be advised that this will require a new windshield. You may be shocked that we can't simply squirt more glue or patch up the leak, but in order to create a proper bond we need to remove the leaking windshield. A windshield can almost never be removed without it breaking. We have to look under the windshield and find out what is causing the leak. There are a number of reasons a windshield could leak. There could be rust, bad urethane placement, too little adhesive, uneven placement of urethane, etc.. The bottom line is that the windshield needs to be removed, which means it will break, so the technician can repair the problem and properly bond the windshield to the car. The setting of a windshield replacement needs to be done right the first time. Once it is set there is no way to go back to change a mistake.

Can you do windshield replacement or auto glass replacement during inclement weather?

In order to provide mobile windshield replacement service during inclement weather, we will need suitable shelter (such as a carport, garage, parking garage, etc.) from precipitation. If shelter is unavailable at your location on a rainy/snowy day, we will gladly re-schedule to meet at our shop or a new mobile appointment for a more appropriate time.

Will the technician transfer my rearview mirror it to the new windshield?

Yes, our technicians will transfer your rear view mirror to your new windshield.

Does the auto glass technician clean up the broken glass?

Yes, our glass technician will do his very best to vacuum all broken glass and leave your vehicle like new. It is always a good idea to have your vehicle detailed after a replacement to ensure all broken is removed
